Coastal House PlansWhether your dream vision of a Coastal Home is a simple beach cottage or a cliff side mansion, Monster House Plans is bound to have just what you're looking for. Coastal House Plans can be designed for a variety of coastal terrains and weather conditions. Because California does not experience the pounding 250 mile per hour hurricane winds that the Atlantic and Gulf Coast does we have a variety of house plans to chose from. Some features of Coastal House Plans are:
Concrete block exterior walls are practically the standard these days in hurricane prone areas and are becoming popular in other regions as well. Benefits of concrete exterior walls are strength, energy efficiency, fire resistance, noise reduction, and protection from insects, rot and mold. In areas where coastal flooding or rising water is a problem, we are seeing a resurgence of raised floor systems rather than concrete slabs. Coastal house plans can be designed with floor systems up to 14' off the ground. Before WW II, these raised floor systems (sometimes called piers) were quite common along the Atlantic and Gulf coastal areas. Because of the housing boom after the war, it was cheaper to construct homes on concrete slabs. Raised floor systems do cost more to build, but the savings in insurance costs and potential damage to your home is well worth the extra price. Here at Monster House Plans we have a wide variety of Coastal House Plans for you to choose from. We have quaint cottages, coastal family retreats, and magnificent Coastal villas already drawn by our professional designers and architects throughout North America. Because these house plans are already drawn, you can receive them in days instead of the months it would require a design professional to start from scratch.
