Use hoagie rolls for full sandwiches, King&#8217;s Hawaiian dinner rolls for excellent sliders, or, as the Pioneer Woman suggests in this recipe, serve with tortillas and lime wedges.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monsterhouseplans.com\/public\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/shutterstock_342338096-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-519\" alt=\"shutterstock_342338096 (1)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monsterhouseplans.com\/public\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/shutterstock_342338096-1-300x300.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monsterhouseplans.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/shutterstock_342338096-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monsterhouseplans.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/shutterstock_342338096-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.monsterhouseplans.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/shutterstock_342338096-1-624x624.jpg 624w, https:\/\/www.monsterhouseplans.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/shutterstock_342338096-1.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One 5-7 pound pork shoulder<\/li>\n<li>1 whole onion, cut into quarters<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon chili powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>4 garlic cloves, peeled<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried oregano<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons ground cumin<\/li>\n<li>1 to 2 tablespoons salt, or to taste<\/li>\n<li>freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons white wine vinegar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>In a food processor, combine the onion, chili powder, brown sugar, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, pepper, olive oil, and vinegar. Pulse until totally combined.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the mixture over the pork and rub it in well, covering every accessible part.<\/li>\n<li>Place the pork into a roasting pan or Dutch oven and add 2 cups water. Cover tightly and roast for 6 or 7 hours, turning once every hour.<\/li>\n<li>Check to make sure it\u2019s fork-tender. Increase the heat to 425 and roast uncovered for 20 minutes or until the skin gets crispy. Remove from the oven and allow the pork to rest for 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Shred the meat, using two forks to pull it apart. Place the shredded meat on a large platter lined with lime wedges.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the pan juices over the shredded meat.
